Thanksgiving Holidays


	Thursday and Friday, November 26-27 All branches of the Columbia County Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. All Library locations will resume regular hours on Saturday, November 28. Happy Thanksgiving!

Jessie Wise Author Program


	Sunday, December 13 at 2:00 pm Join us at the Main Library on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 2:00 pm as the Friends of the Library welcome Jessie Wise. Ms. Wise is the author of Tainted Blood, Mender of Souls, and other books. She won the Florida Writers Conference POW (Promoting Outstanding Writers) Awards 2006-2007 Author of the Year Award for her book, Mender of Souls. She spent most of her adult life in rural North Central Florida, and she now lives in Jacksonville Beach. Please come join us for this unique opportunity!

Food for Fines


	Sunday, November 1 - Sunday, November 22, 2009 Reduce or eliminate your Library fines while helping your community! Columbia County Public Library will be collecting sealed, non-perishable, non-expired food items from Sunday, November 1 through Sunday, November 22. Every eligible food item brought to any one of our three Library locations, equals $1 in reduced Library fines. One item equals $1, five items equals $5, etc. All food collected will be delivered to the Christian Service Center in Lake City for local distribution. There is a particular need for peanut butter and jelly. Please participate by bringing in items and helping your community while reducing or eliminating your Library fines.

Children's Programs


	Schedule Representative Debbie Boyd will be at the Main Library on December 3rd to read Very Hungry Caterpillar, celebrating the 40th anniversary of this beloved book! Holiday Craft Workshops will take place Sunday December 6th at 2 pm, and during regular programs Wednesday, December 9th and Thursday, December 10th at 11. After a Thanksgiving week break children's programs will resume: Terrific Two's on Wednesdays at 11 am, Preschool Storytime on Thursdays at 11 am and Baby & Me on Fridays at 11 am, Story & a Craft Sundays at 2 pm for Families!
